A few days ago, I was in a meeting with a finance executive. She said to me, “Could you draw that out for me? I’m a visual learner.

A finance leader as a visual learner! I was amazed. I often think of finance people as purely analytical driven. When working with a finance leader, you bring spreadsheets to the table, right? Clearly I was missing something.

I started thinking about presumptions we make when trying to learn new things.  One style does not fit all, especially when it comes to learning as an adult.

In fact, research tells us that you only retain 10 percent of what you see, 30 to 40 percent of what you see and hear, and up to 90 percent of what you see, hear, and do.  That’s why DOING is so powerful.

At Miller Heiman Group, all of our sales and services training courses are focused on doing. From working with real deals in real time, to active coaching and reinforcement programs, our job is to make what you do work for YOU.

This is not theory, this is not reading a book, this is intense practice and focus on doing things better, differently, and in a repeatable manner to drive results.

Remember, doing is everything.  At Miller Heiman Group, we make sure your learning includes doing.
